Hang out and ride with friends.
Club riders can be anywhere from beginners who want to get the hang of mountain biking to experts who are more interested in riding with their friends than taking part in competitions.
Easy Riding
Club Riders, who are between 5th and 12th grade, are about increasing their riding skills, hanging out with friends, and having a good time. Club Riders come to practices but do not participate in races. Check out our Q&A below to learn more or sign up now!

Prepare for the conditions! If it is hot out, make sure you bring plenty of water. Snacks are also always a good idea. You will also want to have layers for cold and rainy rides. Don’t forget your bike and helmet either!

A quality mountain bike is essential for a student rider’s safety and enjoyment of the sport and a certified helmet is required. Quality does not always mean expensive.
We have some recommendations for you so your rider has the best experience possible:
Hardtail mountain bikes originating from a mountain bike dealer, not a big box store (those aren't rated for "off-road use" and they break down frequently). Quality used hardtail mountain bikes can also be found on various sale websites and Facebook Marketplace.
Front Suspension (needs to be smooth and free of binding)
Disc brakes (they hold up better when it's wet)
Tire designed for dirt and in good condition
Working drivetrain and shifting (we go up and down a lot, having working gears is crucial)
A certified, quality, well fitting helmet. Students will not be allowed to ride with helmets that do not fit or that show signs of damage and age. A local bike shop can inspect your helmet and make recommendations for you. We can also provide helmets if needed.

The club can sometimes help connect riders with used bikes. Reach out if you are needing help locating a bike.
